Am I Really Re-Writing My Love Story?

Suppose I don’t really have the ideal love story. I’ve never been in a romantic relationship with another person. So considering this thought, maybe I’m not the most suitable person to be dolling out love advice. Though I have such an aching longing for love in the sense of a romantic relationship, that I simply must -*ugh*- (There are no amount of words to describe this).

Perhaps I figured re-writing my love story would prevent this overwhelming emotion from daunting me. So I was wrong. Instead, as I re-write my love story through the love in God’s Word (Scripture), I begin to see the true beauty of love: Righteous Love. And with God’s love (completed by Jesus Christ) I now have access to God’s love in a new dimension. Ephesians 3:17-19 ERV says, “I pray that Christ will live in your hearts because of your faith. I pray that your life will be strong in love and built in love. And I pray that you and all God’s holy people will have the power to understand the greatness of Christ’s love – how wide, how long, how high, and how deep that love is. Christ’s love is greater than anyone can ever know, but I pray that you will be able to know that Love. Then you can be filled with everything God has for you”.

The question is, am I really re-writing my love story? Proverbs 16v1 ERV says, “People might plan what they want to say, but it is the Lord who gives them the right words.” And Proverbs 16v9 ERV says, “People can plan what they want to do, but it is the Lord that guide’s their steps.”

To end this post I want to say, I love God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. And I want to you and everyone reading this to know that is why I re-write my love story. For God’s glory and not my own. And lastly, God’s love is more than we can comprehend. 1 Corinthians 2v9 says, “But as the scriptures say, ‘No one has ever seen, no one has ever heard, no one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who live Him.”

This is me re-writing my love story.

LOVE

God’s quintessential illustration of LOVE is found throughout the entire bible. There is no clearer image of God’s divine love than Jesus’ blood painted on the cross for us. For me. For you. For every person. John 3:16-18 ERV says, “Yes, God loved the world so much that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him would not be lost but have eternal life. God sent his Son into the world. He did not send him to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him. People who believe in God’s Son are not judged guilty. But people who do not believe are already judged, because they have not belived in God’s only Son”.

God’s righteous love is incomparabe. Love is who God is. He wants me to strive after his love; to become more like him through Christ Jesus. Ephesians 5:1-2 ERV says, “You are God’s dear children, so try to be like him. Live a life of love. Love others just as Christ loved us. He gave himsf for us- a sweet-smelling offerings and sacrifice to God.”

Re-Writing My Love Story

Re-Writing My Love Story

HEY, It’s Emma here! Welcome to my blog.

I’ve always been the girl longing for romance without ever being in a relationship. If you’re reading this now and wondering what my current status is; I’m single. So here am I re-writing my love story. My love story is not about the special  guy in my life (because, quite frankly, there isn’t one). My love story is about re-writing the love story that God has for my life.

This year, 2017, I’ve decided to take on a different approach to LOVE; The true meaning of LOVE from God’s Word. The bible tells  the greatest love story there ever is (far better than Romeo & Juliette). I want to look specifically at 1Corinthians13. The way of love itself. Verses 4-8 ESV say, “Love is patient and kind. Love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoyce at wrongdoing, but rejoyces with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love  never ends”. This is how I want to live out my life in love.

The past couple of years my view on love was what I saw in the world instead of thorough God’s word. I saw friends in their relationships: girlfriends & boyfriends, engagements, marriages, and soon to be new parents. All the while I was alone and single. It seemed to me that everyone I knew was going through a relationship.

Now here is the part where I throw my hands in the air and I suppose you could say I gave up on love altogether.  Alternatively God turns me around to shows me His LOVE. His LOVE is where my blog begins.
